Tour de France Photography Book 2026 — 21 Unforgettable Years on Film

NEW COVER · 170 more pages · 7 more years. ALLEZ LE TOUR! captures 21 years of analogue black-and-white film photography alongside the Tour de France — now gathered into a single volume, arriving just as the Tour de France sets off from Barcelona for the first time in history.

Not about the riders. About the people.

This Tour de France photography book is about the fans on the roadside – the people who travel hundreds of kilometres, wait for hours in the rain or the heat, and give everything for a few seconds of racing. Their faces, gestures, costumes and devotion are the heart of this book. More than 4,000 negatives shot over 21 years, distilled into a single volume.

New in this edition

Seven more years have been added. The roads keep giving: Hautacam, Peyresourde, Brussels, Tourmalet, Nice, Col de la Loze, Albertville — all shot on 35mm black-and-white film, all part of this new chapter of the Tour de France photography book 2026.

21 years on 35mm black-and-white film

Every image in this cycling photography book was shot on analogue 35mm film — no digital, no post-processing, no filters. The grain, the contrast, the imperfection of film is what gives these images their character. A deliberate choice: analogue photography slows you down, forces you to be present, and produces images that age well.

From the Pyrenees to the Alps, from Belgium to the Basque Country, from the mountain passes to the village squares — this Tour de France coffee table book follows the race not as a sporting event but as a cultural phenomenon.

A travelling circus that transforms the French landscape every July and draws millions of people to the roadside.

Looking for a unique cycling gift for Grand Départ Barcelona 2026? This Tour de France coffee table book arrives just in time — a piece of the race you can keep.

Tour de France Bildband 2026 — Behind the Project

My name is Nicola Mesken. Since 2005 I have followed the Tour de France every year with a film camera — no press accreditation, no motor drive. Just standing on the roadside like everyone else, waiting for the peloton to pass.

This Tour de France photography book 2026 is the third edition of ALLEZ LE TOUR! — a project that started as a personal archive and grew into something I never expected.

The first edition covered 14 years. The second added more. This third edition brings the full 21 years together for the first time, in a single hardcover volume of 452 pages.

What makes this cycling photography book gift different is not just the analogue process — it is the perspective. Roadside, not press room. The Tour de France from the outside, the way millions of fans experience it every summer. That is the story this book tells.
